Dedicated to Proactive and Purpose-Built Security

“Data security is always at the forefront of our mind. I love that managing data security is now your problem, not my problem!”

Risks to IT and network security systems continue to be a relevant and vital focus of concern for public sector agencies. When it comes to protecting cardholder data and software security, Selectron seeks to stay at the forefront of the latest developments.

Selectron’s security is evaluated on an ongoing basis with a re-certification with the Payment Card Industry compliance team every year. As the capabilities of cyber-attacks continue to evolve, so too must the standards of security. To further expand payment security standards, the PCI Council formally retired the Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS) in October 2022 and replaced it with the PCI Software Security Framework (SSF).

Selectron is proud to announce that in December 2023 our organization received the updated PCI SSF credential and we continue to maintain our Tier 1 PCI security.

The Certification Process

In addition to the SSF certification, we also achieved Secure Software Life Cycle certification, which requires vendors to prove security in both the processes of developing the software and sound security throughout the entire software lifecycle. For our hosted payment solutions, we have also been verified as being PCI Data Security Standard compliant.

Secure Software Framework (SSF):

With this certification, Selectron proves that our software development practices are sound and secure. This allows us to reduce and assess root causes of vulnerabilities in our software by evaluating every piece of code that is developed. Having this certification proves that our software meets all industry requirements.

Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS)

This comprehensive security standard ensures the secure handling of cardholder data by merchants and service providers to prevent data breaches and protect sensitive information. With this credential, we can prove our hosted card holder environment is secure with a multi-tiered approach to prevent cybersecurity breaches.

Secure Software Life Cycle (SSLC):

By receiving this credential, Selectron has proven our software is secure by design and is able to withstand potential attacks. To receive this credential, Selectron met criteria around governance, threat identification, vulnerability detection and migration, security testing, change management, secure software updates, and many more.

Our Senior Security Engineer Kyle Cavelti understands the significance that software and network security holds for public sector clients. “Security enables government agencies to operate and serve what matters most to them with peace of mind. By testing, verifying, and validating solutions, and security by-design provides peace of mind for government agencies and what they can do.”

Safeguarding Security for Our Clients

Proving compliance with the PCI standards is a lengthy process, but a vitally important one for our clients and partners. All major payment processors and insurance companies require an attestation of compliance to ensure that cardholder data remains secure. Government agencies understand that maintaining compliance is of utmost importance to safeguard citizen data and protect their networks from cyber-attacks.

Upholding these integral certifications allows our clients to rest assured that their customer data is secure and to devote their resources towards other vital work.

In-House Industry Expertise

Our Senior Security Engineer Kyle Cavelti recently received the CISSP certification, a renowned level of achievement in the cyber security world. This highly sought-after advanced level credential for cybersecurity professionals proves that he is a leader within the industry, bringing to bear the skills to design, implement, and manage a best-in-class cybersecurity program.

“This credential allows Selectron to weave security into existing processes, such as the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), and further mature security and compliance programs while keeping tabs with ongoing changes in the industry.” Kyle Cavelti, Senior Security Engineer

Our focus on providing trusted solutions begins with security, which is the foundation of the solutions we deploy. This achievement further exemplifies the dedication Selectron has as an organization both to our clients and employees. This commitment also drives our team to continually stay at the forefront of secure software development, to solidify our position as industry experts.
